Bayley has openly discussed her interest in exploring other promotions beyond the WWE banner, specifically naming TNA Wrestling and AAA as goals for her career. During an appearance on Busted Open, the former Women’s Champion reflected on WWE’s evolving Forbidden Door and her long-standing respect for the TNA Knockouts division.
Bayley, who began her career at age 18, noted that seeing peers like AJ Styles and Finn Balor carry their legacies from other promotions has inspired her to explore similar diversity in her own resume.
Bayley’s fascination with TNA is not a new development. She revealed that she actually participated in a TNA tryout around 2010 before signing with WWE in 2012. She mentioned Gail Kim and the storied history of the Knockouts division as a primary influence on her wrestling philosophy, noting that TNA’s women’s roster was often considered the most influential in the industry during her early years.
“TNA was one of my dreams as a kid. I love the Knockouts division. They were like the hottest division for so long. Gail Kim’s one of my favorites. I did a tryout for TNA years ago, like 2010 or something. The knockouts division has always been a dream,” Bayley explained.
The timing of Bayley’s comments comes as she faces an uncertain path toward WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas. After being written off the WrestleMania 41 card last year due to a backstage attack, Bayley admitted she felt anxious about her current creative direction. She has recently been paired with Lyra Valkyria, but the duo has struggled to secure a match for the April 18–19 event at Allegiant Stadium.
“You don’t want to just be one thing. Like, there are so many promotions… I feel like it’s important to mention the past and mention these things. I would love to dip my toes in TNA and AAA. If we have the doors to do that, I would love to go,” she added.
Bayley is still focused WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship, currently held by AJ Lee. On this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw in Seattle, Bayley will compete in a No. 1 Contender’s Gauntlet Match. The winner of the gauntlet is scheduled to face Lee for the title at WrestleMania 42.
