It seems that Robert Griffin III’s bold takes about Angel Reese could lead to a beatdown from Los Angeles Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal.

Since being fired from ESPN last year, former NFL star Griffin III has worked to grow his brand and his “Outta Pocket with RGIII” podcast. On that platform, he created headlines earlier this year by claiming Angel Reese legitimately dislikes long-time rival Caitlin Clark. The comments went viral and added to the WNBA stars’ villain reputation.

This week, he surprisingly offered up another bold claim when he said people inside Reese’s inner circle confirmed she “hates” Clark. The Chicago Sky star has not said a lot about RGIII’s comments in recent months. However, fellow LSU alum Shaquille O’Neal had a bunch to say on Tuesday, including a direct threat to the one-time NFL quarterback.

“RGIII, tweet another monkey post about my girl Angel Reese, and I’m gonna punch you in your f***ing face,” the NBA legend said on “Off the Record w/ Bailey Jackson.” “I don’t usually do stuff like this, but just stop it, bro. You got your job. You got your podcast, leave Angel Reese alone. I’m the one calling her, telling her not to respond. F***ing stop it. That’s the last time.”

Griffin III’s comments originally started in response to a racist post on X of Reese on the cover of the WNBA edition of 2K26. But it devolved into a rant with more opinions about the former LSU Tigers star. And claims her original response endangered him and his family.

O’Neal’s physical threat was not all he had to say about the topic. Claiming the veteran QB is a fool who will only be remembered for his podcast career.

“That’s not real hate. If you look around at what’s going on in this country, that’s real hate,” O’Neal said. “This is sports. I am not supposed to like you. All the stuff you did in your life, you’re going to be remembered for your podcast. That should tell you, you’re not that great.

“Leave those girls alone. You already spoke on it. So what? He hates her. So f***ing what. I hate you now for messing with her,” he added. “Now what? Say something about me. I’m the one calling, saying, ‘Baby, keep it classy.’ She’s not soft by any means. She’s from the streets. I’m like, ‘Don’t indulge with these fools.’ He’s a fool… I would respect it more if Lisa Leslie said it.”
