The WNBA is dealing with a disturbing trend of sex toys being thrown onto the court during games. The latest incident — the third in eight days — occurred Tuesday night during the Indiana FeverLos Angeles Sparks game at Crypto.com Arena.

After Sparks guard Kelsey Plum shot free throws with about two minutes left in the second quarter, a sex toy was thrown onto the court, nearly hitting Fever player Sophie Cunningham.

Cunningham had posted on X days before this incident, warning, “you’re going to hurt one of us.”

According to The Athletic, security couldn’t apprehend the perpetrator, who immediately fled the arena after throwing the object.

This marked the third time in eight days that a sex toy disrupted a WNBA game.

The first incident occurred July 29 at a Golden State ValkyriesAtlanta Dream game. Delbert Carver was arrested for allegedly throwing a sex toy onto the court and charged with disorderly conduct, public indecency/indecent exposure and criminal trespass.

The second happened Friday, Aug. 2, at another Valkyries game, this time against the Chicago Sky at Wintrust Arena. It’s unclear whether that person was arrested or ejected.

Also on Tuesday, green sex toys were thrown during New York Liberty and Phoenix Mercury games but didn’t reach the court.

The WNBA has yet to comment on the latest incident.
