Las Vegas Aces star Chelsea Gray abruptly exited Game 5 of Tuesday’s 107-98 semifinals win against the Indiana Fever at Michelob ULTRA Arena. With 8:15 remaining on the clock in the third quarter, Gray was seen limping off the court after suffering what seemed to be an injury to her ankle.

This happened earlier in the third quarter while Gray was navigating a screen set by teammate A’ja Wilson and attempting to drive, when Fever guard Odyssey Sims caught up to her.

In the process, Sims accidentally stepped on Gray’s right foot, which caused the Aces guard to fall to the floor. The point guard then limped off to the locker room as Las Vegas led 51-50 in that quarter.

Before she left the court, Chelsea Gray had posted seven points on 3-of-3 shooting, four assists, two rebounds and two blocks on the night.

Chelsea Gray’s class performance helped Aces beat Fever

The Las Vegas Aces emerged victorious with a hard-fought win against a resilient Indiana Fever team who battled through injuries and foul trouble to draw the series 2-2 before losing last night.

Part of Las Vegas’s success lies on Chelsea Gray who returned from her third quarter injury scare to finish the game with 17 points, including eight in overtime to secure the win.

A’ja Wilson and Jackie Young were also pivotal in the victory, as they became the first duo in WNBA history to each score 30+ points in a playoff game. For her part, Wilson posted 35 points and five assists while Young contributed 32 points and 10 assists to push the Aces into the finals.

The Las Vegas Aces will now face the Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA finals in the battle for the championship title.
