Despite a second season to forget, Angel Reese has shone off the court, racking up both individual awards and recording success with her ‘melbounds’ merch. This time, it’s on the big screen, and she didn’t hesitate to share her talent with one of her co-stars, popular actor Idris Elba.
The duo both appeared on the set of their new film, “A House of Dynamite”, which opens in theaters on October 10 and will be available on Netflix on October 24.
This political thriller was written by former NBC News president Noah Oppenheim and directed by Kathryn Bigelow. The story revolves around discovering the origin of a nuclear missile launch targeting the US. In addition to Angel and Elba, who play the US President in the movie, it stars Rebecca Ferguson, Gabriel Basso, and Jared Harris, among others.
What Angel Reese shared with Idris Elba on set
During an interview with PEOPLE at the New York Film Festival last month, Reese revealed that Elba gave her some advice while filming with him.
“He just said, ‘Stay confident. Be yourself. Have fun,” she said.
However, the WNBA star wanted to return the favour and revealed that while they practiced basketball during some free time, she taught Elba some tricks as well.
“We were shooting baskets… and I was teaching him a few things too, so it was really fun,” Reese said.
Angel Reese is widely regarded as one of the greatest rebounders in the game, so teaching Idris Elba a thing or two about basketball will clearly be a piece of cake for the Chicago Sky star.
