The Washington Wizards are in the midst of yet another late-season meltdown. Fresh off blowing a 16-point fourth quarter lead to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Washington lost to the lowly Atlanta Hawks on Friday night.

It’s just the latest example of this team limping into the playoffs big time.

Following said loss, embattled Wizards head coach Scott Brooks seemingly put All-Star guard John Wall on absolute blast. Not only that, Brooks questioned Wall’s overall game.

It’s hard not to see that as a direct shot at the team’s starting point guard. As we see with the likes of Russell Westbrook, Stephen Curry and Damian Lillard, that’s the position most look to go one-on-one.

Brooks questioning Wall’s playmaking ability comes shortly after a disastrous two-play sequence at the end of Washington’s embarrassing loss to Cleveland Thursday (more on that here).

Washington heads into the final three games of the season with a 42-38 record and tied with Milwaukee for the eighth seed in the playoffs. It will play either Toronto or Boston in the first round of the playoffs starting next weekend.
