Wisconsin extends Paul Chryst’s contract through 2023

The University of Wisconsin is very satisfied with the job head football coach Paul Chryst is doing and has rewarded him with a contract extension. On Friday, the university’s Athletic Board approved a contract that keeps Chryst locked in through Jan. 31, 2023, per FOX 11 in Madison, Wisc.

This is a continuation of what the school has done the past two years with Chryst, who had extra time tacked onto his current deal after both the 2015 and 2016 seasons as well. According to the school’s records, Chryst is set to earn $3.3 million this upcoming year and will have an extra $100,000 tacked onto his contract each year following.

Wisconsin has continually improved the past three seasons under Chryst. His first season the Badgers won 10 games. Then they won 11 games in 2016 and came within one loss of being undefeated this past year, improving to 13-1 with a huge win over Miami in the Orange Bowl. Overall, Chryst has a 34-7 record at Wisconsin, which is his alma mater.
