Will Muschamp blasted on Twitter for cowardly 4th-down decision against Georgia

With under a minute left in a tie game against Georgia, facing 4th-and-3 from the Bulldogs’ 40-yard line, Will Muschamp opted to try a 57-yard field goal instead of going for first down.

Predictably, kicker Parker White missed the long attempt, setting up Georgia in excellent shape to try and drive down the field and win the game.

South Carolina had a chance to pull off a stunning upset and had a mobile quarterback under center. The chances of making that field goal were minuscule to begin with, making this decision all the more maddening.

Thankfully South Carolina’s defense bailed him out and sent the game into overtime, but the damage had already been done. Fans were furious with the South Carolina head coach, and they let him know about it on Twitter.
