The Chicago White Sox reinstated outfielder Trayce Thompson from the 60-day injured list on Thursday.
He was slated to start in center field and bat sixth in Thursday afternoon’s series finale against the host Texas Rangers.
Thompson, 32, was acquired in a trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers on July 28.
He batted .155 with five homers and 14 RBIs in 36 games with the Dodgers before landing on the injured list with a strained left oblique on June 4.
Thompson is a career .216 hitter with 44 home runs and 123 RBIs in 333 games with the White Sox (2015, 2018), Dodgers (2016-17, 2022-23), Oakland Athletics (2018), Chicago Cubs (2021) and San Diego Padres (2022).
