White Sox third baseman Yoan Moncada was activated from the injured list and added to the Chicago roster ahead of Tuesday’s game against the Los Angeles Angels.

Infielder Lenyn Sosa was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte to create a roster spot.

Moncada, 27, is batting .179 with three home runs and 12 RBIs in 106 at-bats this season. He returns from the injured list for the second time this season and has played in 29 games.

He was placed on the IL with a strained right hamstring on June 17 after exiting a 13-3 loss to the Astros following one plate appearance. The previous game, Moncada was 5-for-6 with five RBIs in a victory over the Detroit Tigers.

Moncada was on the injured list coming out of spring training with an oblique strain and also battled a quadriceps strain.

Sosa played in four games and had one hit in 12 at-bats.
