Former West Virginia guard Joe Toussaint will play for Texas Tech next season, he announced Tuesday night.

A graduate transfer, Toussaint entered the transfer portal last month after Mountaineers coach Bob Huggins resigned following a DUI arrest.

Toussaint chose Texas Tech over Kansas State and Pitt.

Toussaint played at Iowa for three years before joining the Mountaineers, but his lone season at West Virginia was his most productive. Averaging 21.7 minutes per game, Toussaint put up career highs of 9.4 points and 2.8 rebounds in 2022-23, along with 2.6 assists.

In 132 games (42 starts) between Iowa and West Virginia, Toussaint has career averages of 6.0 points, 2.8 assists, 1.9 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game.

It’s the Red Raiders’ second notable transfer addition in 11 days, following the commitment of Arizona State transfer Devan Cambridge on June 24. A wing, Cambridge averaged 9.8 points and 5.4 boards per game last season.
