WATCH: Tigers’ Niko Goodrum fouls ball off foot, then it hits him in the head

Sometimes it feels like the ball is out to get you. In the case of Detroit Tigers shortstop Niko Goodrum, it seems the baseball was out to get him twice.

During an at-bat against the Oakland Athletics, Goodrum fouled a ball that drilled him in the foot and bounced into the air. As he reacted and fell to the ground in pain, the baseball fell back down and hit him in the head. Needless to say, gravity was not his friend.

The 26-year-old took it well and laughed at his own misfortune immediately after. He was able to finish the at-bat and remained in the game.
