WATCH: Steve Spurrier trolls Tennessee talking up AAF crowd

Matt Stamey-USA TODAY Sports

After watching his Orlando Apollos beat the San Antonio Commanders on Sunday, the old ballcoach Steve Spurrier took a shot at the Tennessee Volunteers.

The crowd at the Alamodome Sunday was loud. There’s no denying that. With over 29,000 people in attendance, the Apollos definitely had to overcome some crowd noise.

When asked about said crowd, Spurrier couldn’t help but troll the Tennessee Volunteers, saying, “I’ll tell you, it was just as loud as Rocky Top,” while making sure to note The Swamp was probably a bit louder.

For the record, Neyland Stadium holds well over 100,000 people, and it gets incredibly loud when the Vols are on their game — especially against a rival.

Spurrier, who coached in the SEC for a couple of decades — first with Florida and then with South Carolina, never wastes an opportunity to take shots at his old rivals.
