WATCH: Steve Pearce puts Red Sox up with 456-foot HR down left-field line

Erik Williams-USA TODAY Sports

Steve Pearce came through with a clutch home run in Game 3 of the ALCS, putting the Boston Red Sox up 3-2 in the top of the sixth inning.

Pearce, who had not hit a homer yet in the postseason, got everything behind this swing. His solo shot went 456 feet down the left-field line.

The only thing that was uncertain when the ball left his bat was whether it would stay fair or turn foul. It stayed true.

This was a bit of vindication for Pearce, who had an extra-base hit robbed by Tony Kemp earlier in the game that would have scored at least one, if not two runs.
