Shane Lowry stepped up to the always exciting 16th hole at Augusta on Sunday and made his mark on the 2016 Masters with a hole-in-one.

Unfortunately, the ace means very little in terms of Lowry’s positioning within the tournament. After a great start that put him in contention, he was 13 shots back of leader Jordan Spieth after the incredible ace.
As such, the hole-in-one won’t be anything more than a great shot and, of course, a great memory for Lowry and all who witnessed it.
What it can do is serve as something of a preview for the later groups that are in contention.
The 16th hole, with its traditional Sunday pin placement, has often yielded exciting results from the contenders. History says that this won’t be the last thrill we get out of this hole on Sunday.
