It’s not too often that we see a clean hit on the NFL field that makes us take a step back. Whether fair or not, officials tend to call penalties on said plays.
That was not the case in the first half of Monday night’s game between the Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks.
Check out new Seahawks safety Quandre Diggs laying out Vikings rookie tight end Irv Smith Jr. in absolutely epic fashion.
That’s as clean as it gets, too. Diggs led with his shoulder in making Smith Jr. look like he hit a brick wall.
As much as we love the sexy plays on offense, these types of hits on defense can be fun to watch. It also helped Seattle force a Vikings punt in a game between two top-end NFC contenders.
