Seattle Seahawks safety Quandre Diggs was ejected from Sunday Night Football against the New England Patriots after a brutal helmet-to-helmet hit on wide receiver N’Keal Harry.

Harry came over the middle and hauled in a bullet from Cam Newton for a 13-yard gain in the first quarter of Sunday’s primetime matchup. As he lowered his head to brace for a collision, Diggs dropped his helmet and drove right into the receiver’s head.

Harry fell to the ground immediately after the hit, staying down for a few moments before getting up. While both players seemed to come out of the collision without any serious damage, modern changes to the NFL’s rules made it obvious Diggs’ night would come to an end.

The officials immediately ejected him from Sunday’s game for the helmet-to-helmet blow. Following the disqualification, Seattle will turn to Marquise Blair as their fill-in starter at free safety. Discipline is likely coming from the NFL for Diggs, with a massive fine likely arriving in his locker by Tuesday.
