The blockbuster trade of Russell Westbrook from the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Houston Rockets on Thursday changes the entire landscape of the NBA’s Western Conference.

It also represents a pretty big change for a player in Westbrook who spent his first 11 NBA seasons in Oklahoma.

Westbrook took to social media to say his goodbyes to the Thunder organization and their fans less than 24 after the trade went down.

“From the fans, my coaches, my teammates, the entire Thunder organization, Mr. Bennett, Sam Presti, my friends, and everyone in the entire community,” Westbrook wrote. “You are all what makes Oklahoma such a beautiful place, and the reason I’ve loved playing here all of this time.”

The video itself was absolutely amazing. Westbrook’s words also show us just how much the local Oklahoma City community means to him.

The future Hall of Famer earned eight All-Star appearances, an NBA MVP and NBA Finals appearance during his career with the Thunder. He’ll definitely be missed.
