WATCH: Rex Ryan once again rips Baker Mayfield on live television

Baker Mayfield won’t be sending Christmas cards to Rex Ryan any time soon. Already upset with the former NFL coach for criticizing him earlier in the week, Mayfield was once again in Ryan’s sights Sunday morning.

Ryan spent over a minute on live television lambasting Mayfield for being the weak link on a team that should be contending for a championship.

Ryan pointed to Cleveland’s offensive line, which has graded well in terms of pass protection, and he pointed to the fact that Mayfield has two of the NFL’s top receivers in Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry.

“Baker Mayfield better be happy I’m not in the black and purple today on that sideline because he’d be in trouble,” Ryan said.

There is no doubt that Mayfield has underperformed. He’s also been completely overhyped, as the numbers clearly show.

Of course, all this can change if Mayfield gets back to playing the way he did last year. It is possible for the young quarterback to completely shut up all his critics, including Ryan, with outstanding play on the field.

Though, lately, it seems he’s a bit too fascinated with defending himself on social media. In the end, it’s what he does on the field — not on social media — that will lead to positive vibes in Cleveland.
