The wall at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis played a role in injuring an NFL player for the second week in a row on Sunday. San Francisco 49ers running back Reggie Bush was the victim this weekend after Josh McCown of the Cleveland Browns injured his shoulder in Week 7.

Bush was returning a kickoff when he was shoved in the back while going out of bounds. The running back was launched forwards, then hit the slippery concrete and finally slammed into the wall, injuring his left knee.

Here is a clip of the unfortunate play.

Whereas McCown was able to come back and play a week later for the Browns, it doesn’t appear Bush will have that same luxury. He was carted off with a left knee injury and appeared to be in a high level of pain and frustration, as staying healthy has been a challenge for the veteran.

It sure didn’t look good, and one wonders at what point someone makes the safety-centered move to pad the concrete wall at the Edward Jones Dome so these kinds of injuries don’t occur in the future.
