WATCH: Redskins player forgets what team he’s playing for

Douglas DeFelice-USA TODAY Sports

The Washington Redskins are struggling enough as it is. Having to roll with Josh Johnson under center, the team is battling for its playoff lives Sunday against an equally pedestrian Jacksonville Jaguars team.

It sure doesn’t help that backup running back Byron Marshall legitimately forgot what team he was playing for during Sunday’s game.

We previously wrote on the 74-yard punt return for a touchdown from Jaguars wide receiver Dede Westbrook (watch here).

Lost in all of this, Marshall threw a tremendous block for Westbrook as he entered the end zone. Really, he helped the Jaguars score their first touchdown of the game. Check it out in all of its glory.

That’s all sorts of unfortunate.

Realistically, we have absolutely no idea what Marshall was thinking there. Instead of going for the tackle, he decided to block a Jaguars player, taking himself out of the play in the process.

Poor Redskins.
