More so than any major North American city, Toronto has that international flavor to it. From the neighborhoods and the cuisine, it really is something to behold. It’s pretty much the Vancouver of Canada’s east coast.
That has obviously transitioned to the NBA world. Just days after Spaniard Marc Gasol made his debut in Toronto with a resounding ovation from Raptors fans, it was Jeremy Lin’s turn Wednesday night.
It might not have had the same Linsanity feel to it, but the veteran guard received a standing ovation from fans on hand at Scotiabank Arena.

Way to welcome him as one of their own.
Lin was just recently bought out of his contract by the Atlanta Hawks. Almost immediately, the guard inked a deal with Toronto for the remainder of the season.
The hope here is that Lin can provide a spark off the bench for the championship-contending team. At the very least, he already appears to be a fan favorite.
