The Texas Rangers were dealt a scare on Wednesday night. Center fielder Delino DeShields left the game early after a nasty fall while trying to make a catch.
DeShields’ head jerked back, hitting the ground.
Fortunately, DeShields walked off under his own power, receiving a well-deserved ovation from the fans in Boston.
It was initially suspected that DeShields was being evaluated for a concussion. But the most recent report noted that he was being examined for a neck or shoulder injury.
Certainly, a concussion remains a possibility, as do injuries to his neck or shoulder.
This will certainly be a situation to continue to track as more information becomes available.
