WATCH: Nightmare start continues for Philip Rivers with pick-six

Philip Rivers’ final trek to Oakland has not gone according to plan early during Thursday night’s game against the Raiders.

Rivers opened the game with an absolutely atrocious interception on the Chargers’ first drive of the game. The ball was thrown right into the hands of Raiders safety Erik Harris, who returned it 31 yards to help Oakland take a 3-0 lead.

Then, just two passes later, Rivers tossed yet another interception into the hands of Harris. This time, it was returned 56 yards for a touchdown.

We can give Mr. Rivers a little bit of a pass here. Tight end Hunter Henry fell down mid-route. Before he realized what had happened, Rivers already pulled the trigger. It’s just an unfortunate situation for both the veteran quarterback and his team.

Even then, starting an important divisional game by completing 2-of-5 passes for 30 yards with two picks is not good.
