Opponents who face the Navy Midshipmen’s triple-option attack spend the entire week trying to stop one of the country’s best running games. So, Navy ransacked the Pirates’ secondary with an 80-yard touchdown pass.
Navy quarterback Malcolm Perry executed the fake handoff to the running back to perfection. Once East Carolina’s defense moved in to attack the run, Perry pulled back and hit a wide open CJ Williams and he coasted for the huge touchdown.
It’s difficult to blame East Carolina for focusing all of its attention on the running game. Perry already burned them for 156 rushing yards and four scores in three quarters.
The Midshipmen are making things look easy against the Pirates and it only continues their offensive domination through two games this season.
