WATCH: Nationals return home in epic fashion

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

If you’ve followed the Washington Nationals closely, you know very well that All-Star closer Sean Doolittle fancies himself as a “Star Wars” fan.

So it’s not really a surprise that Mr. Doolittle was sporting a lightsaber as the champions exited their plane in D.C. Thursday evening.

It really is all sorts of epic.

One could say that Doolittle and the Nationals took down this generation’s version of the evil empire in defeating the Houston Astros in an epic seven-game World Series matchup.

Heck, it’s easy to conclude that they saved their skins by coming back from a 3-2 series deficit to win the the final two games in Houston.

Houston did indeed have a problem in those final two games.

Okay, enough with the “Star Wars” and astronomy references. Here, we present Doolittle talking about the epic movie franchise for a good 12 minutes.

The force will be with these Nationals. Always.

Happy Halloween.
