The Baltimore Orioles are off to a brutal start to the 2018 MLB season, but don’t blame the ice-cold start on Manny Machado, as the infielder is scorching the ball early.

On Sunday against the Cleveland Indians, Machado hit not one, but two home runs before the game was halfway over. He now has eight on the season, tying Bryce Harper and Mike Trout for the MLB lead.

It’s pretty crazy, because in his first two at-bats, Machado faced just five total pitches going against Corey Kluber. Three of them were pitches he took outside the zone for balls. Two of them left the yard.

Here’s a look at Machado’s first home run, which occurred in the bottom of the first inning and extended his hit streak to 10 games in a row.

Now here’s the second dinger from Machado, knocked out in the fourth inning — the ball was absolutely tattooed.

Incredibly, this is the third multi-home run game of the season for Machado, and his second in four days. He’s truly on fire right now, and it’s just a shame that the Orioles as a team haven’t been able to take advantage of his hot streak.
