First-year New York Jets running back Le’Veon Bell will not see in-game action with young quarterback Sam Darnold until the regular season.
New York has already announced that Bell will sit out for the remainder of the preseason after being absent from the first two games.
When he does actually take the field with Darnold, Bell is expecting the second-year quarterback to ultimately prove his worth as a top-five player at that position.
It’s not surprising to see the veteran back talk up his young teammate. That’s what you want to see from someone of Bell’s ilk.
After an uneven rookie season, the former top-three pick has looked exceptional thus far this summer.
We’re highly intrigued to see how Darnold looks once Bell takes the field with him. It could be a dynamic backfield for first-year head coach Adam Gase and Co.
