WATCH: Karl-Anthony Towns air balls three-pointer, promptly asks to leave game

By now, the rift between Minnesota Timberwolves star Jimmy Butler and teammate Karl-Anthony Towns is well known.

Butler requested a trade from Minnesota last month and is reportedly upset with Towns’ lack of effort.

If what we saw from the recently-extended big man Wednesday against the Toronto Raptors is any indication, Jimmy is not going to be a happy man.

Down by just four points late in the third quarter, Towns missed badly on a three-point attempt. He then promptly turned to Wolves head coach Tom Thibodeau and asked to be removed from the game.

Thibs did in fact let Towns take a seat on the bench, replacing him with Gorgui Dieng in the process. Toronto would ultimately go on a run to win the game Towns? Well, he finished the night with 12 points on 4-of-16 shooting.

This is yet another example of the issues we’re seeing in Minnesota right now. Butler is not happy about the lack of effort from some of his teammates. And it seems Towns proved his point here.
