WATCH: Juan Soto throws over everyone’s head trying to nail runner at home

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Juan Soto had a shot to nail Carlos Correa at home plate after Josh Reddick blooped a ball into left field in the top of the second inning. Instead, he threw over everyone’s head, allowing Correa to score and Reddick to land on second base.

Check out this way-too-strong throw from shallow left field by Soto, who must have felt a bit of extra juice on his 21st birthday.

If there weren’t a net in place behind home plate, that ball would have gone into the stands.

To be fair, Soto was going to need a perfect throw to keep Correa from scoring. Unfortunately for him and the Nats, this one was far from it.
