Washington Nationals star Juan Soto is among the best young players in the game. We already knew that heading into Game 7 of the World Series against the Houston Astros.

But what the 21-year-old outfielder did in the do-or-die game is even more astonishing.

With his Nationals up 3-2 in the top of the eighth, Soto provided an insurance run with a single to right field, plating Adam Eaton.

Talk about a clutch two-out hit for Soto. It also represented his seventh RBI in the World Series, joining only all-time great Mickey Mantle on an exclusive list.

Mickey Mantle. Yes, that one. You know, the dude who won seven World Series titles with the New York Yankees. Mickey Mantle and Juan Soto. That’s it.

This bears repeating all throughout the winter. Soto doesn’t care. He’s as cool as a cucumber and continues to come up big.

For what it’s worth, Soto’s walk in the seventh inning on Wednesday helped pave the way for Howie Kendrick’s dramatic go-ahead homer.

Talk about clutch.
