As the first half of Texas A&M’s spring game wound to a close, Daniel La Camera lined up for a 61-yard field goal. He missed the kick, but the crowd still cheered because Johnny Manziel made an appearance.
The 2012 Heisman Trophy winner caught the attempt, emerged from the end zone and sprinted about 35 yards down the right sideline toward 12th Man Cullen Gillaspia.
Alex Miller of the Dallas Morning News posted a video of the moment.
Not sure if this was scripted, but Daniel LaCamera’s 61-yard FG try is short and fielded by Johnny Manziel. pic.twitter.com/WwV8JKaH5j

Manziel attended the scrimmage to be the all-time quarterback during the Legends Game at halftime, during which he zipped a five-yard touchdown to De’Vante Harris.
Incidentally, the former Texas A&M star is trying to make a habit of touchdowns again. Manziel, who is hoping to make an NFL comeback, ran in a pair of scores in his Spring League debut and also connected on a 50-yard pass.
Whether he should be receiving a second chance at the professional level is up for debate, but it’s safe to say Manziel hasn’t lost his appeal to all Texas A&M fans.
