There is a huge gap between the Jim Harbaugh-led Michigan football program and Ohio State, which has now won eight straight games in this rivalry.

On Saturday, the Buckeyes went into Ann Arbor and walked away with a 56-27 win.

Going back to last year’s embarrassing loss in Columbus, the Wolverines have lost their last two games by a combined score of 118-66.

So it was natural for a reporter to ask Harbaugh to give his thoughts on the gap between these two programs. Only, when he was asked about this very real thing, Harbaugh said he wouldn’t respond to insults.

Here’s the testy exchange between Harbaugh and the reporter:

When pressed following his “insult” retort, Harbaugh would only concede that Ohio State played better than Michigan on Saturday.

In reality, Ohio State has better coaching, more overall talent and definitely more elite talent at the skill positions than Michigan. If Harbaugh doesn’t bridge this gap soon, he’ll become a former Michigan head coach.
