As has been the case throughout this summer, the NBA didn’t disappoint Thursday evening. Seemingly out of the blue, the Oklahoma City Thunder traded former MVP Russell Westbrook to the Houston Rockets for fellow future Hall of Famer Chris Paul.

This deal reunites Westbrook with his former teammate in Oklahoma City, James Harden. The two played together for three seasons before the Thunder dealt Harden to Houston.

Harden opened up about the trade on Friday. He had nothing but great words to say about the deal.

It might in fact be really fun to see two former MVPs in the same back court together. Though, there’s an obvious question about how Harden and Westbrook will work together. Both are isolation heavy and ball dominant players.

In any event, it’s clear that Harden is happy about reuniting with Russ. It should be a blast to watch this coming fall.
