Down 13-0 in the third quarter of Saturday’s AFC Wildcard game, the Houston Texans needed a star player to step up.
Having already pumped Texans fans up by his mere return to action, J.J. Watt was more than up to the task.
His team needed a big play to avoid falling into a 20-0 hole. That’s when Watt got to Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen for a vicious sack on third down to end the drive and keep the game to within 16-0.
We’re actually impressed Allen was able to hold on to the ball. Usually a blindside sack like that causes a fumble.
Either way, Watt did his part. It’s up to Bill O’Brien and the rest of the struggling Texans to step up.
