WATCH: Iowa’ final play against Michigan was a perfect microcosm of the entire miserable game

The Iowa Hawkeyes went into Ann Arbor and blew a game they absolutely could have won, thanks to one of the worst offensive performances we’ve seen all season.

Quarterback Nate Stanley threw three atrocious interceptions. His offensive line was a train wreck all game, allowing an absurd eight sacks, and the run game produced a grand total of one yard.

Yet despite all that, somehow the Hawkeyes had a chance to tie the game multiple times in the fourth quarter. Every chance they had ended in misery, though, like these unbelievably sad drives late in the fourth quarter.

Then, with one last chance to do something positive, he team’s final play was a perfect microcosm for the entire game.

Credit goes to Michigan for a relentless defensive attack. But Iowa is going to want to burn the tape from this game. In every way conceivable, it was a nightmare outing for Stanley and the Hawkeyes.
