More than seven years after Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout’s iconic home run robbery at Camden Yards as a rookie, Cleveland Indians outfielder Oscar Mercado recreated it on Friday.

In the fourth inning, Baltimore Orioles catcher Chance Sisco drilled a ball deep to center field that seemed certain to leave the yard. Instead, Mercado timed his jump perfectly to make a fully extended grab and take away Sisco’s home run.

The catch is quite similar to Trout’s stunning grab from his rookie season. Both center fielders had their arm fully extended above the wall and took away a home run that most outfielders can only dream of grabbing.

It’s another highlight moments what has been an incredible rookie season for Mercado. The 24-year-old carries .307/.358/.464 slash line with four home runs, six stolen bases and a .822 OPS.
