As a rule, getting a foul ball at a baseball is usually fun. But as a fan in Cleveland found out on Wednesday, there are exceptions to every rule.

In the sixth inning of the game between the Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Indians, Minnesota’s Ehire Adrianza lined a ball foul down the left field line. One woman tried to catch the ball, but it was out of her reach. The fan sitting behind her, who appeared to be her husband or boyfriend, was not being particularly attentive. Apparently, he had a lot of confidence that the ball would get caught before it reached him. He was wrong.

Ouch.

Well, there’s some good news here. One, he eventually got the ball. Though, as we see, he quickly gave it to the woman. So, we can say that he’s a good sport.

More importantly, he was sitting far enough down the line that the ball was not moving at a dangerous pace. The guy might have a black eye or a bruise somewhere. But all in all, he looked okay.
