The Wisconsin Badgers defense has dominated opponents throughout the 2019 season. After it shut down some of the conference’s best offenses for weeks, the Illinois Fighting Illini finally broke through against the Badgers.
Illinois’ offense just moved the ball inside Wisconsin’s territory and seemed to be looking for a short play. A sharp throw by quarterback Brandon Peters struck receiver Donny Navarro perfectly and the sophomore split two defenders before racing into the end zone for the 48-yard touchdown.
It’s the first touchdown allowed by Wisconsin’s defense in the first half this season. An incredible achievement that many thought would have been put to the test next week against Ohio State, instead, ends at the hands of Illinois.
