Illinois Fighting Illini quarterback Brandon Peters showed a ton of heart late in the fourth quarter of Monday’s Redbox Bowl against California. Down by 15 points with under two minutes left, facing 4th-and-17 from his own 44-yard line, Peters somehow converted a first down.

Peters has been outplayed by Cal quarterback Chase Garbers in this game, but nobody can say it’s for lack of trying.
