WATCH: Illinois LB Milo Eifler ejected for the weakest targeting call ever

The targeting rule in college football is broken. If you needed any further proof, just watch this hit by Illinois linebacker Milo Eifler, who was ejected over pretty much nothing.

Leading with his shoulder, Eifler came nowhere near the ball carrier’s head or neck area. Instead, his shoulder struck his opponent’s shoulder.

Yet somehow, Eifler was ejected.

This rule was created for an admirable purpose — to protect players. But if that’s an ejection-worthy hit, just take the helmet and pads away for good and have the players wear flags.
