WATCH: Horrible misplay from Padres’ Josh Naylor leads to three runs

The San Diego Padres are hoping that outfielder Josh Naylor turns into a star. Unfortunately for San Diego there’s a lot of work to be done here.

Take Tuesday night’s game against the Miami Marlins as a recent case study. With the game tied 3-3 in the second inning, Miami loaded the bases. That’s when Naylor made one of the biggest defensive mistakes you’ll see around MLB this season.

What should have been an out and potentially a sacrifice fly off the bat of Harold Ramirez turned into three runs ultimately scoring. Ramirez himself would lake cross home plate to give Miami a 7-3.

Naylor is young. He’ll learn. But that doesn’t help him or the Padres today.
