WATCH: Heat rookie Tyler Herro goes hero ball early vs. Hawks

Fans of the Kentucky Wildcats know full well that Tyler Herro can light up the scoring section of a stat sheet in short order.

Now a member of the Miami Heat after being selected No. 13 overall back in June, Herro is showing those in South Beach his range.

The guard opened up Monday night’s preseason game against the Atlanta Hawks by scoring his team’s first 14 points. That included four from distance.

Talk about a sweet stroke from Boy Wonder right there.

This is something Miami will need from its rookie if the team hopes to earn a playoff spot in a vastly improved Eastern Conference.

Miami traded away Josh Richardson in the blockbuster Jimmy Butler deal. It needs someone else to hit from outside on a consistent basis. Herro could be more than up for the task.
