George Foreman and Muhammad Ali are inexorably tied together for the rest of time due to their iconic bout in 1974 that forever will be known as The Rumble in the Jungle.

The two men grew to respect one another in the aftermath of that epic battle. So it’s not surprising that Foreman would have some heartfelt words for Ali, who passed away on Friday, June 5 of 2016.

Ali was the greatest fighter in American history. But he did so much more than fight. He made it his mission to help others, even going so far as to walk the streets of violent neighborhoods in order to break up crime.

The outpouring of love seen on social media sites and in newspaper columns the morning after his passing shows how beloved Ali was. His influence was global, and he will truly be missed.
