The Atlanta Falcons are definitely going to want to see more of this from running back Devonta Freeman over the next five seasons. Shortly after inking a five-year, $41.3 million extension, Freeman took the field for his Falcons team against the Miami Dolphins in their preseason opener.
The NFL’s highest-paid running back proceeded to cap off Atlanta’s initial drive with a 10-yard catch-and-run from reigning NFL MVP Matt Ryan.

This is the type of play that earned Freeman the type of cash he received earlier in the week. A dual threat at the running back position, Freeman has compiled 127 receptions over the past two seasons. He’s most definitely starting the 2017 season strong, even if it came in a meaningless preseason game.
