Texans rookie QB Deshaun Watson looks strong in NFL preseason debut

Already having a phenomenal game against the New England Patriots, Deshaun Watson, with a two-point lead, magically evaded pressure late in the fourth quarter to help keep a drive alive.

The rookie quarterback appeared to be trapped in the backfield more than once. A few different Patriots defenders looked to have a bead on Watson, who not only escaped their grasp but who kept his eyes downfield.

Here’s the result of his efforts — a magical conversion to fellow rookie D’Onta Foreman that kept Tom Brady and his offense on the sideline.

This play helped the Texans expand their lead over the Patriots, 33-28, meaning a touchdown would be needed to win the game.

Combined with his two ridiculous touchdown throws (like this one here), Watson is having a huge game and could be the first rookie quarterback to take down the Pats in New England in a long, long time.
