After four straight seasons of losing the Cy-Hawk trophy to the Iowa Hawkeyes, Iowa State brought out the trickery and executed it to perfection on Saturday against its in-state rival.

Wide receiver Deshaunte Jones took the ball on a backward pass and caught Iowa’s defensive attention. That’s when receiver La’Michael Pettway got wide open down the sideline and Jones hit him in stride for the 51-yard touchdown.

The Cyclones needed a big play to provide their fans and even players with something to get excited about and get the stadium rocking. They clearly caught the Hawkeyes off guard and it paid off in the biggest way.

If Iowa State ends up winning the rivalry game and the Cy-Hawk Trophy, this will go down as one of the most memorable plays in this rivalry for years to come.
