WATCH: Cubs brutally botch routine pickle play against Brewers

The Chicago Cubs may need to work on their communication a bit more after botching a pickle situation against the Milwaukee Brewers Saturday.

Lorenzo Cain had just doubled in the second inning with one out when Ben Gamel hit a routine grounder to Cubs shortstop Javier Baez. Cain got caught in between second and third base, and a pickle play ensued.

Only, instead of making Cain pay for his mistake, the Cubs failed to get him out, and in the end both he and Gamel were safe.

Making matters worse, Eric Sogard singled to center field two batters later, allowing Cain to score and tie the game, 1-1.

Just awful defense from the Cubs on that play.
