WATCH: Cody Bellinger nails Ian Kinsler at home with potential game-saving throw

The Boston Red Sox had a chance to go ahead in the top of the 10th inning when Eduardo Nunez stepped to the plate with men on first and third and one out.

Nunez did his job, hitting a pop fly to center field. Ian Kinsler tagged at third and bolted for home after Cody Bellinger made the catch. It was the right move. He had to go for it.

Unfortunately for Kinsler and the Red Sox, Bellinger was just too darn good.

This throw was as on the money as you’re going to see in a pressure-packed situation. Catcher Yasmani Grandal caught in plenty of time to apply the tag and end the inning.

Just phenomenal.

If Boston had scored there, we might be looking at a 3-0 lead heading into Game 4, as Los Angeles’ offense had struggled all night long and was going up against Craig Kimbrel, who is suddenly sharp again after a rough patch.

That catch will be looked at in the future as a series-saving play if Los Angeles can find a way to come back in this series. Regardless, it was one of the best postseason throws we’ve seen in a long, long time.
