Boston Celtics star guard Kyrie Irving joined his teammates in visiting the Boston Children’s Hospital this week.
It’s a show of good community work from the organization during this holiday season. In no way did Irving expect to get into a debate about his former Duke Blue Devils team. He certainly didn’t expect a child to troll him over Duke’s loss to Gonzaga earlier this season.
ESPN caught the conversation, and it’s all sorts of great.
The Celtics were visiting @BostonChildrens and this kid talked trash about Duke to Kyrie 😂 pic.twitter.com/wX8e51bUfu

“Who won the Duke-Gonzaga game.” Child, please. That’s pretty darn awesome right there. Irving tried to explain away what happened, but he came out on the short end of the stick here.
Despite boasting a 7-1 record and pretty much the best trio of freshman in recent college basketball history, Duke fell to the No. 1-ranked Zags back in November. Irving apparently isn’t going to live it down.
